Dream Girl 2 box office: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer enters the coveted 100 crore club amid the Jawan storm

Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starrer Dream Girl 2 arrived at the box office on August 25. The film came in at a time when the film business was in a great momentum and it helped. Dream Girl 2 became a commercial success. While it collected greatly in the first 2 weeks, it was expected to slow down with the entry of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan. But even amidst that, the film has managed to enter the 100 crore club.

Ayushmann’s film had a great opening in double digits and the film maintained the pace over the weekend. The next week the film had no competitive big release, and by Day 10, it had crossed Rs 86.16 crore domestically. By Day 12, the film had collected Rs 118.86 crores worldwide gross. And while it has already entered the 100 crore club globally, in India too, the film has finally achieved the feat.

The storm of SRK’s Jawan was expected to slow the film down. And while the speed did reduce, it couldn’t stop the film. The makers announced on Tuesday that Dream Girl 2 has crossed Rs 100 crore nett box office collection. With this, it has become the 10th film of 2023 to achieve this milestone.

Not just that, now Dream Girl 2 has become Ayushmann’s 4th film to enter 100 crore club. The first 3 films are Badhaai Ho, Bala and Dream Girl. The lattermost still stands as the actor’s highest earning film. While it has entered the 100 crore club, Dream Girl 2 isn’t expected to cross the lifetime collection of its predecessor.

Dream Girl 2 details

Along with Ayushmann and Ananya, the film also features an ensemble cast. It includes Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Annu Kapoor, Seema Pahwa, Abhishek Banerjee, Manoj Joshi, Manjot Singh and Vijay Raaz. The film told the story of a small town boy Karam, who goes to the extent of crossdressing to fulfil the wish of his lover’s father. The confusion that ensues, makes for a fun ride.
