Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Azhar’ mints Rs 20.25 crore after its first weekend

‘Azhar’, a film based on the true events of controversial cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin’s life, hit the theatres on May 13. Starring Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri in lead roles, ‘Azhar’ opened at the box office with an average performance. After its first weekend, the film has grossed an amount of Rs 20.25 crore.

Its first, second and third day collections were Rs 6.25 crore, Rs 6.50 crore and Rs 7.50 crore respectively.

So far, the best contributor to the box office figure is Andhra Pradesh, followed by Gujarat.  Since it has not performed exceptionally well at the box office, ‘Azhar’ requires a strong week ahead to make up for it.
