As Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ got postponed, the makers of ‘Firangi’ and ‘Tera Intezaar’ changed their release date too. Both the films were supposed to release on November 24 but got pushed to December 1, considering that it will help the film get good business at the box office. But unfortunately, this decision has not helped the film in the expected manner. Both the films received a poor opening at the box office.
As per the statistics, Kapil Sharma, Monica Gill and Ishita Dutta-starrer ‘Firangi’ managed to mint only Rs 1.75 to 2 crore approximately on day 1. Considering it is a patriotic film with a twist of comedy, people had high hopes from the film. But critics gave negative reviews to the film and audience too doesn’t seem to be quite interested.
Talking about Sunny Leone and Arbaaz Khan-starrer ‘Tera Intezaar’, the film has failed miserably on the day 1 at the box office. Going by the first day collection of the film, i.e., 40 to 50 lakhs approximately, this film does not seem to hold a bright future at the box office. The date of December 1 seems to be jinxed in some manner. Let’s see what in store for these two films in the coming days. (Also Read: Tera Intezaar movie review: Not what we expected after the ‘intezaar’)
Now, we await the release of Richa Chadha, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh’s ‘Fukrey Returns’ which will be hitting the theatres on December 8. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Monsoon Shootout’ too would be releasing on the same day.
