First day collection of ‘Chef’ is shockingly low

Saif Ali Khan-starrer ‘Chef’ looked quite interesting. The trailer and the songs were being liked by everyone. The movie has also received mostly positive reviews. However, the first day collection of the film has shocked us.

The first day collection of ‘Chef’ is Rs 90 lakh approx. which is really bad. The movie started on a very slow note in the morning shows and a minimal growth in the evening has given this number on day one. But, the collection is a surely disappointing. The movie has fared worse than the small films that released this year. ‘Chef’ now needs a miraculous growth at the box office over next two days to come up with a decent number over the weekend. However, that looks a bit difficult here.

Saif is going through a rough phase when it comes to the collection of his movies. His last few films too failed to make a mark at the box office, and it was expected that ‘Chef’ would bring him back in the league of hits. (Also Read: Chef movie review: A mouth-watering ride)

On the other hand, Varun Dhawan-starrer ‘Judwaa 2’ is unstoppable at the box office. On its second Friday, the movie collected Rs 4 crore approx., taking the till date total to Rs 99.25 crore. With today’s collection the movie will reach the 100 crore club. One more superhit for Varun Dhawan.
