After a unique marketing strategy from Y-Films for the movie ‘Bank Chor‘, one would have expected a good response at the box office, but sadly, that didn’t happen. The movie, which had a low opening, showed hardly any growth on Saturday and Sunday. In fact, Sunday was even lesser than Saturday due to India/Pakistan cricket finals.
The movie did a business of Rs 1.35 crore on Sunday and that has taken the total 3-day business of the movie to Rs 4.40 crore nett which is not impressive. Mounted on a budget of around Rs 15 crore, seems like the movie will not be able to recover even its budget, as it has just this week to earn. This Friday, Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ will be hitting the big screens and there is absolutely no chance for this Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi-starrer to sustain itself in front of the massive Eid release. The movie has fared somewhere near Riteish Deshmukh’s earlier movies like ‘Banjo’ and ‘Bangistan’ which did a business of Rs 5.41 crore nett and Rs 3.64 crore nett in their first weeks. The business is really low, and it will be fair to say that the movie has flopped.
