Gadar 2: Day 1 box office collection
Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel have drawn the audience back to the theatres as they reprise their roles as Tara Singh and Sakina. This revival has invoked a sense of nostalgia among the viewers. The inclusion of songs from Gadar 2, such as the remade version of Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava Main Nikla Gaddi Leke, has successfully captured the essence of the original film. Sunny Deol’s iconic action sequences, whether it’s the trademark handpump scene or his cartwheel, have created a lasting impact. It solidifies the film’s reputation as a true entertainer. As for the box office, Gadar 2 has garnered a collection of Rs 40.10 crores.
Indeed, while the Day 1 collection sets the tone, the true test lies in the weekend numbers. The simultaneous release of Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 on the same day has generated a considerable amount of attention. However, OMG 2 hasn’t achieved comparable numbers to Gadar 2. This clash at the box office was widely regarded as one of the most anticipated and talked-about clashes.
With two prominent actors like Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol going head-to-head, it has certainly been an intense competition. As Gadar 2 led by Sunny Paaji seems to be holding its ground, the industry and fans alike are keenly awaiting to witness which film ultimately emerges as the victorious contender.
Bollywood Bubble gave Gadar 2, 1.5 out of 5 stars. A part of the review read, “Sunny Deol is the only saving grace in this movie I feel. He delivers a seeti-maar performance in Gadar 2. At the age of 66, Sunny Deol flawlessly does his action sequences and that’s worth watching on the big screens.”
