Gadar 2 box office collection Day 14: Sunny Deol starrer witnesses slight dip ahead of Dream Girl 2 release, earns Rs 8.40 cr

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starred wreaked havoc at the box office by shattering several records. The nostalgic factor, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s chemistry, and chartbuster music have enthralled the audience. Within 8 days of release, the flick crossed the mark of 300 crore and emerged as the third-highest grosser of 2023. While the film has been witnessing consistent growth, it witnessed dip on second Thursday and raked in Rs 8.40 cr. The films total collection now stands at Rs Rs 419.10 crores.

With this collection, Gadar 2 has emerged as the second highest grosser of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. It has surpassed Aamir Khan’s Dangal and grabbed a fourth position in the list of all-time top grosser after Pathaan (Rs 543.05 crore), Baahubali 2 (Rs 510.99 crore), and KGF 2 (Rs 434.70 crore).

Sunny Deol expresses gratitude

On Wednesday, August 23, actor Sunny Deol took to Instagram and shared a video conveying his gratitude. He stated, “Hello everyone, first and foremost aap sabka bahut bahut dhanyavad. Aap logo ko Gadar 2 pasand aayi.. maine kabhi socha bhi nahi tha. Hum log 400 cross kar chuke hai, aage jayenge but yeh sab aap hi ke wajah se hua hai kyunki aap logon ko film pasand aayi, aapko Tara Singh pasand aaya, Sakina pasand aayi…pura parivar aaya, isiliye thank you thank you thank you (Thank you so much everyone, you all liked Gadar 2. I never thought this would happen. We have crossed Rs 400 crore and will go ahead. This was only possible because of all of you. You all liked the film, Tara Singh, Sakina and the entire family, so thank you).”

About Gadar 2

Directed by Anil Sharma, the film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma have all returned to play Tara Singh, Sakeena, and Jeete in the sequel. This time, Tara Singh defies all odds as he has to set his son free from the clutches of the ruthless Pakistani army. The movie was released in theatres on 11 August 2023. At the box office, it competed with Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam starrer OMG 2 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer.
