Gadar 2 box office collection: Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer sees a massive jump on Day 4, collects a total of Rs 173.58 crore

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel released in theatres on August 11, 2023. The film is a sequel to the iconic 2001 film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Despite clashing with OMG 2, the film has done phenomenal business at the box office. Within three days of its release, the film has managed to make its space into the elite 100 crore club. It collected Rs Rs 51.70 crore on Day 3. Hence, the film’s total first-weekend collection stands at Rs 173.58 crore.

Detailed breakout of Gadar 2 box office collections

Friday – Day 1: Rs 40.10 cr

Saturday – Day 2: Rs 43.08 cr

Sunday – Day 3: Rs 51.70 cr

Monday – Day 4: Rs 38.70 cr

Total: Rs 173.58 cr

With the first day collection of Rs 40.10 crore, Gadar 2 has trumped Yamla Pagla Deewana (Rs 7.95 crore) by a huge margin to become Sunny Deol’s biggest opener. It has also surpassed the collection of Adipurush and become the second-biggest opener of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 57 crore). The flick also turned out to be the second highest-first weekend grosser of the year after Pathaan.

About Gadar 2

In Gadar 2, Sunny Deol reprised his iconic character of Tara Singh while Ameesha Patel returned as Sakeena. Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie also features Ukarsh Sharma as Charanjeet. The flick is set in 1971 and follows Tara Singh’s journey to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh from the Pakistani Army.
