‘Judwaa 2’ beats ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’ in Delhi/UP and Bihar

Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu-starrer ‘Judwaa 2’ has performed amazingly well at the box office in its first week. The movie has minted Rs 95.25 crore nett in its first week. It has high chances of becoming the biggest hit of the year for the Hindi film industry.

It started off on a good note and then got good benefit of the holiday period. It even held strongly at the box office post the holiday period. It has registered the third highest opening numbers after ‘Tubelight’ and ‘Raees’ (if we do not include ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’, but if we include it then ‘Judwaa 2’ stands the fourth position. In states like Delhi/UP and Bihar, the circuit figures are higher than these movies. In fact, higher than ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’. The film’s fate had been sealed during the holiday period, however, it was important for the movie to hold well post holidays if it had to go on and put up a huge number and that’s exactly what has happened. Until Diwali, the movie will rake in good numbers, but it faces competition from Saif Ali Khan-starrer ‘Chef’ which releases today. Now, the second Friday business of the movie will give a better idea of its lifetime business.
