Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan starrer ‘Love Aaj Kal‘ released last Friday. Imtiaz Ali’s romance-drama managed to earn a whopping Rs 12.40 crores on its day 1. However, on its second day at the ticket window, the film managed to earn just Rs. 8.01 crores. Yes, instead of witnessing growth the film’s collections are dwindling rapidly.
On its opening day, ‘Love Aaj Kal’ minted around Rs. 12.40 crores and thereby it became the highest opener of Kartik’s career. But looking at the film’s day 2 collections the future doesn’t seem to be promising.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, sharing the film’s second-day collection, wrote, “#LoveAajKal dips on Day 2… Shocking part is, the decline has come at metros/multiplexes, which is its target audience… Weak at Tier-2 cities as well as mass circuits… Needs a miracle to salvage the show on Day 3… Fri 12.40 cr, Sat 8.01 cr. Total: ₹ 20.41 cr. #India biz.”

The film was expected to earn more over the weekends but unfortunately, that’s not the case. ‘Love Aaj Kal’ mostly received negative reviews upon its release. Both Kartik and Sara were also bashed by the netizens for overacting. Looks like filmmaker Imtiaz failed to live up to everyone’s expectations.
