Salman Khan returned to the box office on Eid this year after 4 years with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. There were huge expectations from the film to perform at the ticket counters. And after a slow first day, the film gathered speed during the weekend and has garnered a solid total.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan first weekend box office
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan opened on a low note with Rs 15.81 crore first day collection. But on the second day, the film had an exceptional growth, thanks to Eid. The second day collection was Rs 25.75 crore. The film managed to hold that growth and do a little better on its first Sunday. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan collected Rs 26.61 crore on third day. It has taken the first weekend total to Rs 68.17 crore at the domestic box office for the Salman Khan starrer. Worldwide, the film’s collection stands at Rs 112.80 crore.
Here is a detailed breakdown of the first weekend collection of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan
Friday: Rs 15.81 crore
Saturday: Rs 25.75 crore
Sunday: Rs 26.61 crore
Total: Rs 68.17 crore
The major portion of the film’s business has come from the mass circuits. According to a report in Box Office India, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Sunday collections from states like UP, MP and Bihar were better than Saturday. The Punjab NCR belt would have normally seen a big drop post the Eid national holiday. But as it was a Sunday, the drop was much less.
The real test for the film starts from Monday. It is the weekday business that will determine the film’s longevity at the box office. However, one thing working in the favour of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is that no big film is slated for a theatrical release next month. The next big release is going to be Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan on June 2. Thus, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has a huge window to improve and collect more.
