The movies Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan clashed at the box office after its release. The Aamir Khan starrer and the Akshay Kumar movie made a decent business on the second day of the release. However, both the movies witnessed a drop in the second day collections, despite being a holiday. Laal Singh Chaddha had opened with a collection of 11.50 crore nett, while Raksha Bandhan collected 8 crore nett at the box office.
A Box Office India report said that the Aamir Khan starrer fell 40% on Friday, while the Akshay Kumar movie saw a fall of 25% in the collections. The film Laal Singh Chaddha managed to collect 7-7.25 crore nett range, only. With the collections of the Advait Chandhan directorial on Day 2, it takes the total of the movie to 18.50 crore nett.

Speaking of Raksha Bandhan, according to the report, the movie faired well on the second day. The Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer did a fair business in some pockets and went on to rake a collection of 6.25 crore nett. Despite the 25% drop from the first day, the trend for Raksha Bandhan is pretty decent post the opening day, in comparison to the Aamir Khan starrer. However, the overall collections of the Akshay Kumar film remain low despite the decent hold.

Talking about Laal Singh Chaddha, the movie features Aamir, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya in key roles. The film is an official Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump featuring Tom Hanks. Laal Singh Chaddha even received support from the Academy after its release, in form of a video post on their official Instagram account.
