Last week’s releases, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ and ‘Munna Michael’ have managed some growth at the box office. However, if we take the budgets into consideration, while one has done a decent business, the other has had a poor one.
Let’s first talk about Tiger Shroff and Nidhhi Agerwal-starrer ‘Munna Michael’. The movie did a business of Rs 31 crore nett in its first week which is poor considering the budget of the movie is around Rs 50 crore. The business fell fast over the weekdays after Sunday which showed a fair business. The single screen business of the movie is still better, but if you compare it with Tiger’s earlier movie ‘Baaghi’, then it’s still not up to the mark. Going by the numbers, the second week looks really poor for the movie which may just manage around Rs 35 crore nett. ‘Munna Michael’ is directed by Sabbir Khan, produced by Viki Rajani and stars Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Niddhi Agerwal in it. Talking of ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, the movie has managed to do a reasonable business with collection of around Rs 10 crore nett. The weekdays showed strong growth. For all we know, the movie is all set on a path to becoming a surprise hit, if we take into consideration the collections of day 8. The eighth day business could be better than that of ‘Munna Michael’ too. ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ is written and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Prakash Jha and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures. The movie stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur.
