Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s romantic comedy film ‘Luka Chuppi’ witnessed an excellent growth on its second day at the box office. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film has minted around Rs 8.01 crore on its opening day while it has managed to earn a decent amount of Rs 10.08 crore(approx) on its second day taking its total collection to Rs 18.09 crore(approx).
Though ‘Luka Chuppi’ was released alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Sonchiriya’, it ruled the box-office and remained way ahead of the latter in terms of business. The film, which explores live-in relationships, is not only loved by youth but also a family audience. It was released on almost 2,100 screens across India.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, ‘Luka Chuppi’ will witness a further hike in its collection on Sunday. He also wrote on Twitter that the film will also cross the opening weekend business of Kartik’s previous releases such as ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ (Rs 26.57 crore) and ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ (Rs 22.75 crore).

Talking about the film, Bollywood Bubble film critic Sameer Jha wrote in his review, “If you were expecting this film to be a realistic take on live-in relationships, then you’ll be disappointed. You can watch it with your entire family or your special someone but don’t come in with too many expectations.”
The story of the film revolves around a television reporter (Kartik) in Mathura who falls in love with a headstrong woman (Kriti). Later, they decide to live in, but their traditional families also join them. What happens next remains the crux of the film.
