This Friday, we had three films making it to the theatres. Mustafa Burmawalla’s Bollywood debut ‘Machine’ clashed with Govinda’s comeback film ‘Aa Gaya Hero’. Giving them company was Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Trapped’. And as expected, all the three films have tanked at the box office.
The collection of the films is so bad that they can surely be called the worst films of this year. On first Tuesday, ‘Machine’ collected approximately Rs 35 lakh at the box office. Following this collection was ‘Trapped’ that minted approximately Rs 25 lakh at the box office. But the worst collection has been registered by Govinda’s ‘Aa Gaya Hero’. He failed to spread his magic and the film only minted Rs 12.50 lakh on its first Tuesday.
The figures are surprising for Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Trapped’ as it received good reviews from the critics. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, ‘Trapped’ has been applauded by each and every critic, mainly for the act put forth by Rajkummar.
Let’s see how far these films are able to make. With Anushka Sharma’s ‘Phillauri’ and ‘Aanarkali Of Aarah’ releasing this week, we doubt these films would be able to do wonders at the box office. (Also Read: ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ movie review: The baap of all nonsense, and nuisance too)
