Mohit Suri’s latest film ‘Malang’ hit the silver screens yesterday. The romantic action-thriller features Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu in a pivotal role. The film opened up to mixed reviews from the audience and the critics and has managed to earn around Rs 6.71 crores on its opening day.
The opening day collection of this Aditya Roy Kapur starrer might not be great but they are not bad either. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s day one collection on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
“Malang is decent on Day 1… Should’ve grossed higher given its genre… National multiplexes contribute 50%+ of Day 1 biz… Mass circuits low… Needs to show more than normal jump on Day 2, though biz in #Delhi will be limited… Fri ₹ 6.71 cr. #India biz,” Adarsh wrote.Â

‘Malang’ revolves around the story of Advait (Aditya) visits Goa where he meets Sara (Disha), a free-spirited girl who lives life unshackled. Opposites attract and all goes well until life turns upside down. Years later, Advait is on a killing spree with cops Aghase(Anil) and Michael (Kunal) in his way.
With no other big film in its way, ‘Malang’s box office performance is expected to improve over the weekend.
