‘Marjaavaan’ Box Office Report: Despite negative reviews, Sidharth Malhotra-Riteish Deshmukh starrer mints a respectable amount

Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh starrer ‘Marjaavaan’ has received negative reviews from the audiences as well as critics. ‘Marjaavaan’ falls short in different places despite having a strong cast. It failed to impress because of the weak plotline.

At the box office, the movie earned a decent amount. Film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to share the Day 1 collection of ‘Marjaavaan’. The revenge drama minted Rs 7.03 crore on Friday (November 15). He tweeted, “#Marjaavaan posts respectable numbers on Day 1… Mass circuits / single screens very good, contribute to the total… Metro multiplexes ordinary… Multiplexes of Tier-2 + Tier-3 cities good… Should witness growth on Day 2 and 3… Fri ₹ 7.03 cr [2922 screens]. #India biz.”

Our film critic Prateek Sur reviewed the movie and wrote, “Talking about the story of the film, it is so confusing that you will be left pulling out your hair as why things are happening the way they are happening. To be fair, till the first half, you will be left wondering which direction the movie is heading towards. The second half slightly gives you a sniff of a storyline, however, at the climax, it all vanishes into thin air.”

On Friday, other than ‘Marjaavaan’, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty starrer ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ also released.
