This Friday saw the release of three very diverse movies. While ‘Mirzya’ was a love saga based on the eternal love of Mirza and Sahiban, ‘Tutak Tutak Tutiya’ was touted to be one of the first horror-comedies, and ‘MSG-The Warrior Lion Heart’ hardly needs any introduction, we think. Without further ado, here are the first day collections of all three movies.
Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher starrer ‘Mirzya’ is a beautiful musical love story that was been awaited for quite some time. However, the first day collection was poor, a mere Rs 1.50-1.75 crores. Prabhudheva, Sonu Sood, and Tamannah Bhatia starrer ‘Tutak Tutak Tutiya’ had an extremely poor opening, collecting just Rs 40-45 lakhs on day one. ‘MSG-The Warrior Lion Heart’ managed to garner Rs 1-1.25 crores, but that can be attributed to bulk bookings prior the release.
As far as ‘Mirzya’ is concerned, we can expect that the quality content can pick up the growth during the weekend. Also, since this movie is more appealing and oriented towards the evening crowds, we should wait for more reports before predicting its fate. ‘Tutak Tutak Tutiya’ doesn’t seem like it will take off, and ‘MSG-The Warrior Lion Heart’ and its earnings will be mainly because of dummy bookings.
On the other hand, ‘M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story’ dropped drastically, but the collections were still not bad by eighth day standard, as it managed to collect Rs 3.35 crores.
Let’s see whether the new releases manage to pick up during the weekend, and which one emerges a winner during the course of its run.
