Taapsee Pannu‘s recent venture ‘Naam Shabana’ won accolades from all. Critics gave it a positive review and even the audiences liked the film. But, despite the positive feedback, the film could not do wonders at the box office.
Directed by Shivam Nair, ‘Naam Shabana’ took a slow start at box office, but then it gradually progressed over the weekend. On Sunday it had collected Rs 7 crore approximately at the box office. But again, on its first Monday, the collection of this film dropped drastically.
As per the statistics, this Taapsee Pannu spy thriller managed to mint Rs 2.25 crore at the box office. The numbers are surely not great and we are highly disappointed with it. But again, ‘Naam Shabana’ has received critical acclaim which is a good thing.
‘Naam Shabana’ is a prequel of Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Baby’. It narrates the story of how Taapsee’s character of Shabana Khan turns into a spy. Akshay has an extended cameo in it, but it is Taapsee who has shown her acting prowess in this one.
