So, finally Karni Sena has watched Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ and has ended the protest against the film as the members feel that the movie glorifies the valour and sacrifice of Rajput *eye rolls*. Looks like they don’t understand the repercussions of their pointless protests.
And the result is, that though the movie had taken a good start at the box office on its day one, but even then it was low by the standards expected, given the limited release. The movie had been banned in certain states due to the protests.
But, then after first day, the film showed an amazing jump at the box office and in just eight days it has collected Rs 159.50 crore which is an excellent collection. However, there is no point in denying that the collection of the film has been affected as three prominent states, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, have not screened the movie.
However, now as the protest has ended we can expect the movie to hit the screens in these three states. Well, if the film releases in these three states soon, then ‘Padmaavat’ in its second week will show a huge jump at the box office, for it will receive opening figures in the said states. It looks like the film will now easily cross Rs 250 crore by the end of its second week.
We are sure its celebration time for the makers now. (Also Read: Padmaavat: It’s time to do Ghoomar for the makers as finally Karni Sena ends the protest)
