Shoojit Sircar’s recent release ‘Piku’ is reaping at the Box-Office. After a successful weekend, the Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan starer had some superb collection even on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday the movie made a Box Office collection of Rs 4.40 crores and Tuesday too had a good collection.
‘Piku’ reaped an average revenue of Rs 5.32 crores on its opening day. Over the weekend too it collected around Rs 8.70 crores on Saturday and 11.20 crores by Sunday. The movie is quite stable during the weekdays too. Within a short span of four days Piku has collected around Rs 29.62 crores. By the end of the fifth day it’s collection has reached Rs 35 crores.
The movie ‘Piku’ has done a good business overseas too. It has collected Rs 5.03 crores from 118 screens in US over the weekend. ‘Piku’s collection from UK-Ireland was Rs 1.08 crores from 36 screens over the first weekend. It also made a good collection in UAE-GCC of Rs 4.91 crores. In Australia ‘Piku’ collected Rs 71.56 lakhs from 15 screens.The film managed to rake in Rs 8.70 lakh from 3 screens in New Zealand over the weekend.
Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Piku’ happens to be a family drama based on a father-daughter relationship, played by Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone respectively, while Irrfan Khan plays a key role too.
