Mani Ratnam‘s directorial venture Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 is doing a phenomenal job at the box office. The movie is busy garnering good reviews and numbers not just domestically but internationally too. As it has been three days since PS2 was released, the magnum opus has hit the 150 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Only recently, industry tracker Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share that the film has breached the ₹150 crore-club. “Ponniyin Selvan 2 has crossed ₹150 crore gross at the WW (worldwide) box office in three days,” Ramesh’s tweet read.

As the movie is doing well globally, it is doing a fine job domestically as well. Ponniyin Selvan 2 which started on a decent note has collected Rs 29.14 crore on its third day. Ponniyin Selvan 2 got over Rs 80 crore at the domestic box office on its opening weekend, according to Sacnilk. Going by the latest collection, the movie will soon hit the 100 crore mark in India. However, the team is now celebrating the success of PS 2’s collections in the global markets.
Bollywood Bubble gave 3 stars to Ponniyin Selvan 2. A part of the review read, “Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 is a worth-watching film, all thanks to Mani Ratnam’s spectacular vision, and its magnificent cinematography. The first half of the movie is nicely knit while the second half can seem like a drag. Last but not least, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram were the showstoppers of PS 2. They were phenomenal.”
Ponniyin Selvan 2 is the sequel to PS 1. The movie is about the Chola Dynasty and its empire. Mani Ratnam’s directorial venture stars Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala and Prakash Raj. It has been released in Tamil and it was dubbed in Hindi, Kannada and Telugu.
