Although it started very strong and had a great run at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘Raees’ has now started to slow down. On its third Friday, it collected a mere amount of Rs 30 lakh.
This is a huge drop in terms of number, since the second-week collection of ‘Raees’ was Rs 16.25 Crore. Collections might witness a growth during the weekend but won’t still cross Rs 1.50 crore, as per box office predictions.
This drop can be credited to the release of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ that made it to the theatres yesterday. Directed by Subhash Kapoor ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ had a decent opening at box office with Rs 12 crore. (Also Read: Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan took their first selfie ever. ‘Kaabil’, which had hit the theatre on the same day as ‘Raees’, initially had less number of screens than the latter. However, thanks to the great response from critics and audience, it gained 200 more screens. This also ate up a portion of ‘Raees’s business.
Let us see how much the film can buck up during weekend!
