Actor RajKummar Rao showcased a heartwrenching story of Bheed on March 24 which talks about people’s struggles when the government announced the lockdown. He narrated a story of when people were jobless while the deadly virus hovered over their heads. The movie got good responses from the critics; however, Bheed did not fare well at the box office as the numbers are a disaster.
Bheed box office collection:
According to a trade expert, Anubhav Sinha’s directorial venture has not even collected above 1 crore. Bheed raked in Rs 29 lakhs on day 1 at the box office. On the other hand, Keanu Reeves starrer John Wick is doing good at the box office as it collected Rs 3.65 crores domestically. The movie is also being screened with Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Rani Mukerji starrer Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway.
Meanwhile, Bollywood Bubble gave 4 stars to Bheed. A part of the review read, “Bheed solely focuses on the troubles that the lower class faced during the lockdown. With the movie, Anubhav Sinha brings forward that part of India you never knew about in news channels or the social media, during or after the lockdown. He treats you with jawbreaker scenes that manage to leave chills down your spine. Sinha makes it hard to spot flaws in this fiction turned reality.”
RajKummar Rao on people trolling Bheed:
After the trailer of Bheed was released, it received mixed responses from fans. In fact, the trailer was heavily criticised but speaking about the same in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the Stree actor told us, “I think that’s their job I respect that. If somebody wants to assume something that’s his or her prerogative. I am nobody to really tell them anything. Because I was sure the kind of film that we have made, and now that we have had a couple of screenings, people have come out very moved, very touched, thinking about a lot of things that they have in life. Now we are very sure, once they watch the film, all these misunderstandings will get cleared”.
Bheed also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Pankaj Kapur. The movie is helmed by Anubhav Sinha.
