Roohi Box-Office Collection Day 3: Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor & Varun Sharma starrer gathers momentum

As soon as the lockdown restrictions were uplifted, Bollywood filmmakers wasted no time in lining up their films for release. Hardik Mehta’s horror-comedy Roohi was the first big-budget film to release in theatres this week. The film featuring Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma in the lead, opened up to mixed reviews from the audience and the critics alike.

Roohi had a decent opening at the box-office and thanks to the weekend, its collection has gained momentum. The film has managed to earn Rs. 3.42 crores on its third day at the box-office.

On its first day, Roohi raked in Rs. 3.06 crores. On its second day, it managed to collect Rs 2.25 crores. On Saturday the film earned Rs. 3.42 approximately. So overall, this horror-comedy has collected Rs.8.73 crores so far.

Sharing the details of the film’s collection, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Roohi gathers momentum as the weekend sets in… Multiplexes are key contributors… Substantial growth on Sat gives hope… Double-digit *extended* opening weekend is confirmed… Thu 3.06 cr [#MahaShivratri], Fri 2.25 cr, Sat 3.42 cr. Total: ₹ 8.73 cr. #India biz. (sic).”

After Dhadak, Roohi is Janhvi Kapoor’s second film to release in theatres. So naturally, the film is extra special for the young actress. Roohi is the second film in Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe after Stree. But unlike Stree, Roohi failed to live up to everyone’s expectations.
