Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani beats Gully Boy to emerge as Ranveer Singh’s fourth highest grosser of all time, earns Rs 147.75 crore

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani continues to enthrall the audience with its captivating storyline, chartbuster music, and a phenomenal performance by the stellar cast. It has set the cash registers ringing at the box office and continues to do so even in its fourth week. The film collected Rs 7.73 crores over the fourth week and its total collection stands at Rs 147.75 crores. The positive word of mouth has done wonders for the film. With such a kind of response, it is expected to cross the 150 cr mark in some days and emerge as fourth fourth-highest grosser of 2023.

With this collection, it has emerged as Alia Bhatt’s third-highest grosser after RRR (274.31) and Brahmastra (257.44 cr). For Ranveer Singh, it will be his fourth-highest grosser after Bajirao Mastani (184.2 cr), Simmba (240.31 cr), and Padmaavat (302.15 cr). It has surpassed the collection of Gully Boy (140.25 cr).

Karan Johar has had a remarkable track record overseas. The maverick filmmaker has delivered some of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name is Khan, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. And that streak only continues with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

The family entertainer has managed to cross that mark of $18.4MM in the overseas market and become the second-highest grosser post-pandemic. It is the 5th highest-grossing Hindi film specifically in North America along with Pathaan, Dangal, Padmaavat and PK. Globally, it has collected over Rs 300 crore.

The story of the film is penned by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy. While its music has been composed by Madan Mohan and Pritam.
