Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer Shaakuntalam saw a minor jump in the Day 2 box office collections. Directed by Gunasekhar, the movie was released in theatres on April 14, in languages Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. According to the reports, the film made a little above Rs 1 crore nett, on the second day. However, the Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer managed to rake a decent collection.
Shaakuntalam Day 2 Box office collections
On Day 2, the Gunasekhar directorial collected Rs 1.2 crore nett. According to the numbers by Sacnilk, Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer Shaakuntalam made a total of Rs 5 crore so far, in terms of box office collections. As per the report, the film got an overall 20.59% Telugu occupancy on the second day of the release. When it comes to Hindi occupancy, it was about 8.35%. Going by the collections, it looks like the movie is struggling after a disappointing first day.
Speaking of the Day 1 collections, on the release day, Shaakuntalam collected approximately Rs 3 crore nett, including all languages. It collected phenomenally well in the Telugu sector, whereas, the Samantha starrer did poorly in the Malayalam occupancy.
Samantha starrer overseas collections
In terms of overseas collections, Samantha’s movie is doing exceptionally well, in the USA. Despite the poor national collection, Shaakuntalam has grossed over $200k, overseas. On the first day itself, the movie made over $175k.
Meanwhile, the film also stars Dev Mohan in a key role, playing King Dushyanta, alongside Samantha. It features Jayadev Mohan, Sachin Khedekar, Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, Madhoo, Jisshu Sengupta, and Allu Arha too.Â
