Secret Superstar: Aamir Khan, Zaira Wasim-starrer crosses the 300 Cr milestone in China

Aamir Khan has got the Midas touch. It seems like whichever script Mr Perfectionist puts his hands on, turns into gold, which returns accolades and box office in huge numbers. After the phenomenal success that ‘Dangal’ turned out to be in India and also overseas in China, it is Aamir’s second venture ‘Secret Superstar’ which is raking in loads at the Chinese box office.

The movie, which is the story of a teenage girl who wants to break away from the orthodox shackles and become a singing sensation, was loved by one and all back here in India. Aamir Khan, who has a small yet pivotal role in the movie, has a huge fan following in China. Attribute it to this, combined with the fact that it is a beautiful story with stupendous performances, ‘Secret Superstar’ which was already performing well, has crossed the coveted Rs 300-crore mark in China.

The total collection of the movie now stands at $50.96 million, which is equivalent to Rs 323 crore. This is indeed a huge feat for a movie with a small budget, and a small-town story which was totally backed by powerhouse actors, with a star in just more than a guest appearance.
