Shehzada box office: Kartik Aaryan starrer hits the 20 crore mark at a snail’s pace on first weekend

Actor Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada has not been minting good numbers yet at the box office. The film is falling flat on its face as it fails to bring significant numbers to its account. Speaking of the first weekend collections, the comedy-drama raked in Rs 7.50 crores on Sunday, making the grand total to Rs 20 crores. Shehzada has hit the 20 crore mark at the box office.

Detailed breakout on Shehzada box office:

Day 1 – Friday – Rs 5.75 crores

Day 2 – Saturday – Rs 6.50 crores

Day 3 – Sunday – Rs 7.50 crores

TOTAL – Rs 20 crores

On the other hand, Ant-Man And The Wasp – Quantamania is also collecting decent numbers. The film which was also released along with Shehzada has minted Rs 8 crores. The total comes to Rs 25.50 crores at the domestic box office.

As Shehzada failed to strike a chord with the audience, it is reported that Kartik Aaryan returned his fees as an actor. When asked about his remuneration or a profit-share basis as a producer on Shehzada, Kartik told ETimes, “For this one. Initially, I was not on board as a producer for Shehzada. At first, I had taken my fees and remuneration. And then there was a crisis. The film was going through a crisis and they needed somebody to step up. So I asked my producer then I gave up my money. That is how this whole thing, production and me becoming a co-producer came (into being).”

Bollywood Bubble gave 3.5 stars to Rohit Dhawan’s directorial venture. A part of the review read, “Shehzada must be enjoyed to the fullest instead of comparing it with the original one or trying to find sense. Rohit Dhawan brings a fully out-and-out entertaining movie that offers all the emotions from laughter to action to joy. Apart from that, Kartik Aaryan is the heart of the film and demands attention. As I have said before, Shehzada is a full masala entertainer.”
