Taapsee Pannu-starrer ‘Naam Shabana’ was never expected to take a flying start at the box office. Though it has a superstar like Akshay Kumar in it, everyone knew that the actor just has an extended cameo, and the movie revolves around Taapsee’s character.
Well, and as expected, the film took a slow start at the box office. However, huge number of screens helped the movie to get a decent figure on day one. The movie, which has been released in around 2000 screens, has collected Rs 4.75 crore on day 1. If we take the screens into consideration, then the collection is low, but for a woman-centric film that too a spin-off of a hit movie, then the amount is quite decent.
The movie really needs to show a big jump over the weekend. (Also Read: ‘Naam Shabana’ movie review: A fierce Taapsee Pannu on a sturdy backdrop shines throughout)
On the other hand, Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Phillauri’ has gone down drastically. On its second Friday, the film collected Rs 50 lakh. The total collection of the movie is Rs 20.75 crore. Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan-starrer ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ collected approx. Rs 50 lakh on its fourth Friday, which is similar to the second Friday collection of ‘Phillauri’. The movie has collected Rs 109.50 crore. It is a super hit.
