‘Thappad’ Box-Office Report: Taapsee Pannu starrer witnesses a good jump on its day two

Anubhav Sinha directorial ‘Thappad’ starring Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati garnered rave reviews from the critics and the audience alike. The film’s collection witnessed a jump on its day two at the box-office. The film earned around Rs. 8.12 crores on its day two at the box-office. On its opening day, the film had collected Rs. 3.07 crores.

‘Thappad’ is a social drama that raises some pertinent question on the patriarchy in Indian society. The film also highlights several other issues such as toxic masculinity, domestic violence and everyone’s complicity in patriarchy. Taapsee’s performance in the film has won over everyone and critics are going gaga over it.

The film, despite being the kind of cinema our society needs to watch right now, won’t be able to take the box-office by storm as our audience are still smitten by mindless masala films.
