The Kashmir Files released on March 11 and it has set the box-office on fire since Day 1. The movie received positive reviews from critics and the word of mouth helped it to mint moolah at the ticket windows. The Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri directorial is showing no signs of slowing down. It entered the coveted Rs. 100 crore club and now it is inching closer to Rs. 200 crore club as it collected Rs. 70.15 crore on Weekend 2. So, the total collection stands at Rs. 167.45 crore. The worldwide collection is Rs. 192. 35 crore.

Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh has shared the Week 2 collection of The Kashmir Files on Twitter. He has predicted that by Wednesday or Thursday, the movie might collect Rs. 200 crore.

Sharing the figures on the micro-blogging site, he wrote, “#TheKashmirFiles [Week 2] is a TSUNAMI at the #BO… Packs a SUPER-SOLID total [₹ 70.15 cr] in *Weekend 2*… #TKF REFUSES TO SLOW DOWN, should hit ₹ 200 on weekdays [by Wed or Thu]… Fri 19.15 cr, Sat 24.80 cr, Sun 26.20 cr. Total: ₹ 167.45 cr. #India biz.”

The Kashmir Files pocketed around Rs 3 crores on Day 1 since then, the film has been unstoppable at the box-office.

The film created a debate. While some raved, some criticised it. PM Narendra Modi also watched the movie and he lauded it. He had said, “There can be many aspects of truth and different views, those who think it is not correct can make their own film, but they are shocked that the truth that they tried to suppress is now coming out with the backing of facts and efforts. The entire ecosystem is involved in it”.

The movie features Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Bhasha Sumbali and Chinmay Mandlekar in pivotal roles.
