Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ is already a winner at the box office. The movie had a long weekend of five days and collected an excellent amount over those days. On Wednesday, it was expected that the film will show a drop and that happened. However, the drop is not a bad one. The film is still steady and doing well.
On Wednesday, the movie collected Rs 6.50 crore approx. taking the six-day total to Rs 88 crore which very good. The film in next two days will reach the 100 crore club. In the second week the movie doesn’t have a competition from a big film. There are two releases in the coming week, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and ‘Partition: 1947’, but they won’t be a hurdle for ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ at the box office.
Today there’s a partial holiday in the country for Parsi New Year, so we can expect the movie to do well and collect more than what it did on Wednesday. Though ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ received mixed reviews from the critics, but the positive word of mouth has done wonders for the movie. The moviegoers have loved the film and can’t stop praising Akshay and Bhumi for their performances.
On its fifth day, the film had collected Rs 19.50 crore approx. This had made the movie stand at the seventh position in the list of highest collections on a Tuesday. We won’t be surprised if ‘TEPK’ turns out to be one of highest grossing films of the year. (Also Read: ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ takes a huge leap on Tuesday, crosses Rs 80 crore mark)
