‘Tubelight’ witnesses a slight drop in numbers on second day at the box office

Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight‘ did a business of Rs 19.75 crore nett on the second day which is a little less than the Friday business. The two day collection of the movie is around Rs 40.50 crore nett. The amount minted in two days is not that great considering the fact that it’s a Salman Khan movie and his previous movies have set record-breaking numbers right from the start. So, this one seems to be an underperformer going by his previous box office standing. Being a Saturday, a good growth was expected but instead the numbers dropped slightly.

The fact that Salman Khan has not portrayed the quintessential action hero or a lover boy in this film, has apparently worked against him in terms of box office numbers. Gujarat/Saurashtra has shown a slight growth and also Mysore, whereas East Punjab dropped by 8% from Friday numbers.
