Valimai Box Office: Ajith starrer sets the box office on fire on its opening day

Ajith Kumar starrer Valimai hit the theatres on February 24. The H Vinoth’s directorial is the first big Tamil film to release in cinema halls after Covid-19 pandemic third wave. Day 1 box office report is out. Going by it, we can say that Valimai started off well as it had a terrific opening.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to his Twitter handle to share the Day 1 collection of Valimai. He wrote that it opened with Rs 1.82 crore in Chennai. “#Valimai takes the Biggest Day 1 Opening for Actor #AjithKumar in #Chennai City.. ₹ 1.82 Crs Gross.. This is also the highest Day 1 opening for any movie in the Pandemic era in #Chennai City..,” read his tweet.

As per a report in Box Office India, Valimai “will be the first film in Tamil Nadu to breach the 25 crore net mark on the opening day and that’s a great result for the industry.”

Produced by Boney Kapoor, the movie also stars Huma Qureshi and Kartikeya Gummakonda. The movie has been pushed several times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was slated for Pongal release but got delayed again.

Valimai may face a tough competition in the coming days as Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi and Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak released today in theatres. Both the movies have already created a lot of buzz and have got positive reviews as well. So, in that scenario let’s see how Valimai performs at the box office.
