Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Begum Jaan’ fails to collect a decent amount in its first week

Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Begum Jaan’ started on a very low note at the box office. The first weekend collection was strictly average, and the film needed to be stable over week days. However, unfortunately that didn’t happen.

The movie in its first week has collected Rs 15.50 crore which is disappointing. This should have been the first weekend collection of the movie, and the movie should have crossed Rs 20 crore in its first week. But, unfortunately that has not happened. The budget of the film is nearly Rs 19 crore. However, it looks like the makers won’t be able to get any profit from this movie.

‘Begum Jaan’ was expected to save Vidya’s career and Vishesh films too. There is no doubt that Vidya is one of the most talented actresses of Bollywood, but we cannot ignore the fact that it’s the actress’ seventh flop in a row. Even a few previous films of Vishesh Films have not done a great business at the box office.

We wonder if ‘Begum Jaan’ will be able to sustain in its second weekend as there’s a new release, ‘Noor’.
