As the series is going to release in the upcoming week, he had a candid chat at the Meta office where he spoke about his bond with his son Trisanjit Chatterjee to his work in Hindi cinema.
What are the differences and similarities between you and your son Trisanjit (Mishuk)?
“I think we have a lot of similarities; however, differences, I mean he is too young. He usually gives suggestions on your generation like the YouTubers, and influencers. He tells me to talk to different people and tells me that ‘if you can’t, I can help you and I connect to them’. (laughs) And quite a few times, I even listen to him because he has a lot of connectivity as I’m not that connected. He also gives advice. Only recently, he told me that he watched Jubilee and his close friends told ‘I look hot‘.”
He was also asked if he and his son have a father-son bond or if are they like friends. Prosenjit said they are like friends but Trisanjit shares maximum things with his mother than him but when his mother questions him, he plays the cool guy and handles the situation.
When asked about the Gen Z and millennials dialect, he said that he is trying to learn now but can connect to it. But again, Mishuk also helps him with it and he is continuing to learn it.
Prosenjit was asked about the social media accounts he liked the most, to which, he said he checked Sachin Tendulkar and Kartik Aaryan’s Instagram accounts.
Prosenjit Chatterjee was asked to reveal one secret that no one knows and that he snores.
Indian actors do you wish to work one day?
“There are many actors but I want to work with Naseeruddin Shah, Kamal Haasan, I had worked with Amitabh Bachchan but also Mohanlal. I’ve done a small part with Mr Bachchan but I have a very good relationship with Amitabh Ji. He sweetly writes Bumba Da.”
One film that you wish you had done but couldn’t do it?
“I couldn’t do the Uttara movie with Buddhadeb Dasgupta because of my dates. While in Hindi movies, it was Saajan. Initially, the casting was Madhuri ji, me and Rishi Kapoor but then the casting changed.” When asked why it didn’t happen, he said, “A lot of changes happened in Bombay. I loved that film, it was a very nice film. The producer and the director were very close to me.”
Prosenjit Chatterjee starrer Jubilee will be released on April 7 on Amazon Prime Video.
