Stree 2 Box Office: Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao starrer beats Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter & Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD to become Bollywood’s fastest entrant of 100cr club in 2024

Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana starrer Stree 2 is enjoying a phenomenal run at the box office. It been just 2 days since the film was released, and it has shattered several records. The film, which opened to a whopping Rs 64.8 crore nett in India (including paid previews on Wednesday). On its second day i.e. Friday it minted Rs 35.30 crore after which its total stands at Rs 100.10 crore. With this, Stree 2 has become the fastest film of 2024 to enter the 100 crore club at the box office. It has beaten Fighter and Kalki which took around 4 days to surpass that mark in India.

Stree 2 has entered the 100 crore club in 2 days becoming the fastest film in 2024 to achieve this mark. It broke the record of Fighter and Kalki 2898 AD. The Hrithik Roshan and Prabhas starrer entered the coveted club in 4 days. Stree 2 is expected to register good earnings on Saturday and Sunday. Its successful run is expected to continue even on Monday, which is a Rakshabandhan holiday in some parts of the country. With the film earning over 100 cr in just 2 days, it is expected to enter 200 crore by the end of opening weekend.

Hansal Mehta and Kangana Ranaut react to Stree 2 success

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta commented on the success of Stree 2 and mentioned that people should not credit it to just one actor. He wrote on X, “Don’t trivialise its success by attributing it to one star. This is a talent vehicle, studded with exceptional writing, directorial, and histrionic talent.”

While Kangana Ranaut hails director Amar Kaushik as real hero. She wrote on Instagram, “Movie Stree has shattered all records. Congratulations to the entire team, but the real hero of a film is the director. In India, we don’t give enough credit or appreciation to directors. That’s why not many youngsters want to be writers or directors. Everyone who wants a career in films meets me for guidance, wants to be either an actor or a superstar. Who will make movies if all become actors? Socho! So please learn the names of all good directors who do so much to entertain and engage you, and please follow them. Also, learn about their lives and process as well. Please appreciate them and encourage them too.”

Stree 2 is the fifth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe and is the sequel to Stree (2018).
