Abhishek Banerjee on learning about his father cancer
Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Bubble, Abhishek recalled the difficult time. He said, “As an actor, I think it’s very important for me to have very strong mental endurance levels. Because I think things might be falling apart in your personal life but when you’re in front of the camera, you have to do your job and do it convincingly. I think that is the most tough part for an actor to maintain that balance. I got a call from my dad that he’s got, thankfully, stage zero cancer. That was very difficult for me because it was my first film, and I didn’t know how to cope with it.”
“I just got a call from my dad now. And I have to go and give a shot which is supposed to be a comedy scene. I have to do comedy there and have to improvise. I had to forget about my father for that little amount of time but then it happened. That’s the thing and then with each… thank God, of course, he got well and everything is okay now. But for me, that was a very important learning in my first film. I have realised that no matter what, you have to keep your mind really strong so that you can fight. Of course, the odds of the industry but also the personal situations or issues you’re going through.”
