Actor Ali Fazal who essays the role of Guddu Bhaiya in the highly-anticipated show Mirzapur season 3 defends the usage of cuss words in the show. If you have been following the hit series, the characters have used a lot of cuss words in the series. While some can relate some feel it’s too much. However, Ali feels that even though it is new, it is hard to adjust to the audience. Fazal agrees with the audience but says that the makers are staying true to the script and want to show the reality of those regions.
Ali Fazal defends cuss language in Mirzapur season 3
Talking about the same, the Fukrey actor exclusively told Bollywood Bubble, “We have never seen that onscreen. We have only seen those abusive languages in Western cinema quite openly. But in their cinema, it is not censored. With our cinema, it is always censored. I’m saying as responsibly as we could. The entire generation has gone past without hearing any cuss words. So when a show like this came on a platform where it is freer with language, it is new, and it is hard to adjust.“
“Of course, there would be people with the opinion saying, that this is too much and it is not correct. And this is correct because there are several shows with many cuss words. It almost felt like we were taking out the frustration like ‘Oh we got the chance so let’s show them everything’. But it’s also true that cuss words are used in those regions. And to stay true to the script and to show reality, we tried to show that,” he continued.
When discussing how the others have picked up this cuss thing thinking that as they have picked it why can’t we? Ali then added, “Yeah but this depends on our sensibility. Even the audience can pick up a lot of things. We are not their conscience, it is a fictional show, and we are assuming there’s an educated audience out there. We are also assuming that there are responsible parents and families who are making sure that their kids above 18 are watching it.“
