Salman Khan’s niece Alizeh made an impressive Bollywood debut with Farrey. The Soumendra Padhi directorial received rave response from the audiences and critics. Post the release, Alizeh Agnihotri opened up about people not knowing her despite coming from a privileged background and how everyone is looking at her beyond being Salman Khan’s niece post Farrey’s success.
Alizeh on coming from a ‘privileged’ family
Alizeh is the daughter of Salman’s sister Alvira Agnihotri and producer Atul Agnihotri. During the chat, we asked the actress why her mother didn’t act. To this, she stated, “I have spoken to her about it and she was like I never had that desire of doing it as she was more interested in the back end of things. And I think that it’s been really good for me because my interests have become very diverse. I know everything because of my family and at the end of the day, everything is collaborative. For being a good actor, I feel its equally important to know the director’s and producers’ sides as well.”

She further stated how that environment gave her a sense of reality. She insisted, “Yes, I do come from privilege and I am completely aware of that but still nobody knew me, or my family. So, it was a good way to get a sense of reality. It’s stupid to say but sometimes when you grow up in a world like this, you’re far away from reality. You forget that people outside of this business don’t know or care about half the things you’re talking about. So, it was really good to always be surrounded by people not from the film industry, and to have friends who are actors that don’t come from film backgrounds. It’s given me a very realistic and grounded perspective of what I want my life to play out to be.”
About people looking at her beyond being Salman Khan’s niece
Talking about how people’s perspective has changed towards her and how they are appreciating her work, Alizeh mentioned that the world is now looking at her beyond being Salman Khan’s niece. “Yeah, for sure. I came across an article that said that she is creating her narrative and identity and I felt grateful about that. It was difficult for me in a project that was already being headed by my family to have that impact because obviously, I have my family’s help. It is a very privileged thing to have your family support to this extent where they believe. So, I was a bit nervous about that. And then obviously because already everybody is like associating me with my family and all of that so when I read that one thing it was really, I can sleep at night now.” Watch the full interview here:
