EXCLUSIVE: Amit Sial states Arshad Warsi NEVER called Prabhas a joker for Kalki 2898 AD; says, “It was taken out of context”

Actor Amit Sial has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry with shows such as Mirzapur, Maharani, Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega, Kathmandu Connection and Inside Edge. The actor – who also starred in Bollywood films such as Raid, Guddu Rangeela and Love Sex Aur Dhokha, recently sat down with Bollywood Bubble for a long, candid chat about his career, the entertainment industries in the country and more.

While chatting with the host, Amit Sial was asked his views on one of the recent controversies – Arshad Warsi calling Prabhas a joker for his performance in Kalki 2898 AD. Read on to know what he said.

During the exclusive chat, when asked his views on the entire episode, Amit Sial said, “Yeh mujhe bahut galat baat lagti hai, Hindi film industry ki unity viz-a-viz south indian film industry ki unity. Koi log kuch nahi keh rahe hai. Arshad Bhai ka pura interview dekho, mujhe lagta hai thoda out of context dikha diya gaya hai woh. Aisa unhone kuch nahi bola, uske baad ke jo unhone baat boli, woh uske context mein dekho. (I think it’s very wrong that there is this talk of unity between the Hindi film industry and the South Indian film industry. If you watch the entire interview of Arshad Warsi, I feel things were taken out of context. If you look at the entire interview, you will know that he didn’t say anything wrong).”

Continuing further, Amit stated, “Having said that, Arshad as a person is quite fearless, bold and vocal. Lekin abhi ye chhoti-chhoti baaton ko pakad ke out of context karke ye sab hungama agar mach raha hai, to matlab it’s very sorry state of affairs. (But now, if small issues are being taken out of context and causing this uproar, then it’s a very sorry state of affairs).” He added, “And now this whole discussion about the South Indian industry versus the North Indian industry has started again. That’s not how it is. Unhone thodi na aisa bola ki kyunki woh South industry mein hai isliye woh joker hai. Aur joker nahi bola unhone. (He didn’t say that because he’s from the South industry, he’s a joker. And he never called Prabhas a joker). The context in which he has said that thing, people should themselves see it.”

Amit: Ye nahi hona chahiye

Amit Sial continued, “Yahi problem hai yaar ki ye aap reel dekhte ho, koi na to usmein ek chhota segment aata hai. Usko dekh ke matlab opinion form hota hai. Ye nahi hona chahiye kyuki ye dangerous situation hai. Aise toh koi kuch bhi out of context daal sakta hai.(The problem arises when we see a small segment on social media and form judgements. It should not happen as it’s a dangerous situation and things can be presented out of context). Suppose there’s some news running and I said something about something else, and someone takes a clip and attaches it to this reference. These things are wrong.”
