Arbaaz Khan opens up about his early days when his dad Salim Khan married Helen

Talking about the time when Helen entered their life as a stepmother when he was just a kid, he said, “My father never imposed Helen aunty on us. He knew that our mother was very important to us, and he had another woman in his life, but she had her own space. Helen aunty never tried to separate us either. She was just happy that there was somebody in her life who cared for her. She knew that he had his own family, his own wife, and kids, so she didn’t want to disrupt that.”

He further opened up about how his mother, Salma, dealt with the situation. Arbaaz shared, “It was difficult for my mom at that point in time, but she dealt with it in her own way. Whatever their reasons were to keep going, whether it was for the sake of us children, circumstances, or just the fact that it happened and they still needed to be around each other, they had their own struggles, and we saw it as kids. But, they have gone through that.”

“Today, all of them are inseparable. My dad holds my mom’s hand and sits. It’s so beautiful,” he added.

For the unversed, Salim Khan was married to Salma Khan and had four children together – Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan. Later he went on to marry veteran actor Helen and they adopted a daughter, Arpita Khan.

Arbaaz Khan shared about his relationship with his father over the years

Arbaaz Khan also shared the early relation he shared with his father. He said, “My father was making an attempt so that we wouldn’t feel neglected. But my mother was always there for us. My father was actually working around the fact that we should not feel that way, so he was making an effort. We were always with our mother. In fact, for a really long time, we didn’t communicate much because my father was constantly working. When we would go to school, he would probably not have woken up by then because he used to work late nights. When we used to be back from school, that’s when his working hours were there. Post-lunch, he used to do his writing and all.”

Revealing how their father-son bond flourished, he shared, “Those few hours before we went to sleep, we would meet him. As kids, we were not very close. We got closer when the partnership broke, and I met with an accident when I was 14. That’s when my father started spending a lot of time with us. He was also jobless at that time. That’s when things started getting closer with him.”

He further added, “From then onwards, he has always been with us, and we have the highest regard and love for him. The little time we get, we rush to spend with him. There’s not a single day that I am in town and having lunch; I would eat with him.”

In conclusion, despite the challenges, their relationship flourished, and today, Arbaaz and his family hold immense love and respect for each other, cherishing every moment they get to spend.
