The Salim-Javed duo stands to be one of the most iconic ones as they have delivered quality and some of the biggest movies in Hindi Cinema including Zanjeer, Deewar and many others. Not just this, they have also created the very popular image of Amitabh Bachchan as ‘Angry Young Man’. However, it was in the 80s when the duo split up, but they try to stay in touch. Now, Arbaaz Khan has addressed to the unexpected split up.

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, we had a chance to speak with Arbaaz Khan, son of Indian film writer, producer and actor Salim Khan. Arbaaz Khan took out some precious time from his busy schedule and addressed the split and expressed how did he dealt with the same as a 14 year old.

Arbaaz Khan opens up about dealing with Salim-Javed split

The actor said, “We were kids at that time, but I’m quite aware of what happened and I was about 14 when the split happened.” The actor said that the families of the two were very friendly despite the split. He said, “When the breakup happened, as kids were also quite affected, because we saw that dad at that phase was going through a lot more and lot of things were happening at that time, which were kind of blows to him.”

The actor further opened up about a jeep accident he faced which was also a part of the phase. He also spoke about the struggles faced by his father including his relationship with veteran actress Helen, and work being affected because of the split.

Arbaaz further said, “So, we have seen all of that, but we have met Javed Sahab and we have always been very cordial and we have been very nice to each other. There has never been any animosity or anger or trying to prove something to the other. Time is great healer. So when time happens and you get matured and when kids understand what has happened, you tend to become more acceptable to a certain things in life. This is a part of life and you can’t have everything going your way. And when things don’t go your way, maybe it doesn’t seem right at that point but finally you come to terms with it and you accept it. ”

He added, “Today they are in a very good space. We, as kids would have never thought of Javed Sahab and dad would ever sit across each other and make a conversation.” He concluded saying that, “They communicate very often now, they speak over the phone very often.

Arbaaz Khan further opened about his mother and the struggles she faced. The actor also spoke about the relationship he shares with his father.
