EXCLUSIVE: Asha Parekh reveals the reason behind her cancelling a shoot due to ‘red eyes’; recalls how people speculated ‘alcohol consumption’ as the cause

The third episode of Arbaaz Khan’s The Invincibles season 2 is here and it features veteran actress Asha Parekh. During the candid conversation with the ‘Fashion’ actor, the ‘Teesri Manzil’ got candid about a number of things, including being ‘married’ to Shammi Kapoor, working with Guru Dutt saab, not getting along with Shatrughan Sinha and more. During the chat, the actress also recalled having to cancel a shoot as her eyes were red and whether people assumed they became like that as she had consumed a couple of alcoholic drinks.

Asha Parekh on having red eyes on sets

When asked if people on sets ever mistook her red eyes as her enjoying drinks, Asha Parekh began giggling. On further being asked if she was ever questioned about enjoying a couple of drinks and coming on sets with red eyes, the actress said, “See, working in the outdoors, we had very huge reflectors and those reflectors used to affect the eyes. Mere aankhen laal ho jaate the (My eyes used to get red). People may have (thought) (laugh)…” To which Arbaaz added, “Probably she must have had way too much, but that was not the case.”

Recalling an incident, Asha Parekh said, “Once I was shooting continuously for a month and aankhen itni laal ho gayi thi that I refused to shoot the next day (After shooting continuously for a month, my eyes were extremely red and I had to cancel a shoot for a day).”
