Deepak Adhikari, popularly known as Dev is one of the finest Bengali actors. He has left an indelible mark on the audience with his performance in movies like Projapati, Rangbaaz, and Yoddha, among others. He is all set to feature in Arun Roy’s Indian biographical period action drama Bagha Jatin. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Dev spoke about not making his Bollywood debut yet and revealed he didn’t get justifiable offers.
Dev on rejecting Bollywood offers
When we asked the actor why he didn’t dabble in Bollywood cinema, he shared, “Honestly speaking, I got few offers. I don’t want to name them since they are renowned well-known people. Mujhe waisa lagan nahi ki Bengal chodke waha kyu jau (I never felt why I should leave Bengal and go there). It’s not like any role will make me happy but I need to be also happy at the end of the day. I also need to be like it’s equally as good as what I’m doing in Bengal, I didn’t get anything like that. Being honest, I’m happy whatever I’m doing a little bit, it’s not that I’m not open to like Bollywood.“

During an exclusive chat with us, Prosenjit Chatterjee had said, “If I am already doing so well there I don’t want to play a subordinate here”, agreeing to which Dev exclaimed, “Makes sense”.
We further asked him whether the offers were not justifying his potential, to which he reacted, “Of course yes! I think that when you are doing so good over there, just because aapko Bollywood me debut karna hai bolke I prefer not saying yes to anything. So I’m like I’m happy whatever I’m little bit doing over there. There is a saying that bade talab me choti machli hone se behtar hai chote talab me badi machli hona (Rather than being a small fish in the big pond, I would prefer being a big fish in a small pond).”
