Bigg Boss OTT 3 is all set to premiere on June 21 and the glimpse of a massive house, designed by Omung Kumar and his wife Vanita is out. This year the theme is about fantasy world and it will feel like Jumanji meeting Harry Potter. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Bigg Boss OTT 3 set designer Omung Kumar talks about the theme, Anil Kapoor hosting and rising entourage cost and actors demands. Excerpts:
What is the theme of Bigg Boss OTT 3 house this year?
Regarding how Bigg Boss OTT 3 has a fantasy theme this year, designer Omung Kumar says, “This year it is a fantasy book that comes alive. It’s like Jumanji meets Harry Potter meets us. There’s dragons on the wall, a huge storybook that is open, and then it becomes like a niche to sit inside the storybook. Everywhere around the garden are basically locks and keys. As you come into a fantasy world, you can only see the outside world that you can see that you can’t go out. It’s like you are stuck into it like a time-warp fantasy world. The kitchen is like as if you’ve gone into a small little village.”
Talking about confession room, he added, “So the confession room is like as if you’ve gone into an antique vintage house, which has a stained glass backdrop. So and the steps going from center to both are left and right. And this time you don’t have a sofa, they want to sit on the steps itself.”
How exited are you to see Anil Kapoor hosting this season?
This year, Anil Kapoor will be seen hosting Bigg Boss OTT 3 in his ‘Jhakaas’ andaaz. Commenting on how the actor will bring new energy to the show, Omung said, “I think it’s going to be crazy because he if full of life. He wants to do a lot. And I’m just waiting to see what he can bring to the table. And obviously, he’s come over to our world over here and we welcome him. His enthusiasm and the kind of energy that he has, he will, I think take this to a different level altogether. I think he’ll be another character to the whole house or the house itself. He has not done hosting before like this. I have seen him just hosting a segment or two for IFFA. So this will become his baby and he wants to put in everything that he has.”
As a filmmaker and creative person, what’s your thoughts on rising entourage cost and increasing demand of actors?
Reacting on surge in entourage cost and debate around actor’s rising demands, Omung remarks, “Everybody will have a reality check very soon and it should have because, yes, the costs are so high. The actors should know that everything should work for the film. Because they work so much, the costs are there. And eventually content is the king. Right now small movies are doing fantastic without any stars, so people are looking for good content. So maybe it’s time that all these actors also realize this and reduce the pay.”
