Rapper Naezy is an underground hip-hop icon who helped inspire the hit 2019 film “Gully Boy” starring Ranveer Singh. He is ready to participate in Anil Kapoor hosted Bigg Boss OTT 3. This rap icon stormed the music scene with the smash hit “Mere Gully Mein,” a collaboration with fellow rapper DIVINE. Naezy’s rise to fame continued with a significant moment in 2015 when he made his film debut with the infectious track “Birju” from the movie “Hey Bro.” In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Naved Sheikh aka Naezy talks about entering Bigg Boss OTT 3, taking advice from Munawar Faruqui and Gully Boy. Excerpts:

You mentioned that you are not interested in participating in Bigg Boss. Still, you are entering in this season. Any reason for that?

Revealing his reason behind entering Bigg Boss OTT 3 house, Naezy says, “The show has gained respect in front of my eyes over the years. Earlier, I used to think that Bigg Boss is not a good place for people like me. Because the fights are not real, that’s what I feel. They are fighting for popularity, votes, or power in the house. That’s not a good reason. So, I did not like the strategies, behaviour, and contestants earlier.”

He further adds, “But now, I thought that it’s going to be adventurous for me. And it’s going to be a challenge for me. I have been quiet for a while and didn’t even do much work. I am not doing any shows. It has been peaceful career-wise also. So, I wanted to make some noise. I wanted to come in front of the camera and talk to people, talk to my audience and connect with them.”

Did you get advice from any previous season contestant?

We asked if he spoke to MC Stan or any other contestant, he shares, “I spoke to Munawar and we met for a while. I had a good word with him and I have not spoken to MC Stan until now.”

MC Stan who won Bigg Boss 16 faced the backlash for the background he came from. What are your thoughts on this?

Sharing his thoughts on MC Stan, Naezy shares, “MC Stan just abuses in his songs. That’s why he is not a valid rapper for me. Indian scene is very respected. Our culture has tradition and is rooted. So, no one abuses. There is no abuse in Bollywood. There is no abuse anywhere. But he abuses in his songs. I don’t look at him as a person because of his work in his songs. There are bad abuses about women. He disrespects women. So, I don’t look at him like a person. But I think he is a very different artist. I don’t understand what is his vision. I want to change that in society.”
