Divya Dutta opens up on her childhood
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Divya Dutta revealed that she was a very happy-go-lucky child and opened up about many childhood memories. She said, “I think I had a good childhood, like a classic potboiler film with a mix of everything. I was a very happy-go-lucky child. My mom and dad were doctors, and they worked in a small place in Sahnewal. They were very busy. When I was 4-5 years old, they enrolled me in a government school, thinking they’d put me in playschool later, as that would require going to Ludhiana. One day, my father asked, ‘What did my child learn today?’ and I recited a bunch of foul language.”
She further said, “So my father packed everything up and sent me to Delhi to live with my aunt. I stayed there until he passed away, and then I returned to my mother in the same place. I went to a convent school after that, and it was beautiful.”
During the same conversation, Divya also opened up about having two infatuations in her life Dutta said, “I had two infatuations in my life and they made me their sisters. It was the tragedy of my life. I mean, of course, but they are beautiful friends now. But there was an infatuation phase where you feel so good. So Salman for me was Prem. So you could not be the sister there. But I was new. It was my second film. So working with Salman was exciting for me. And I must say what a revelation he was. Because he was very helpful on the set. And what do you call it? To look over. One him, one Shahrukh. And I think they were exceptional co-stars that I had.”
