Take a look at Emraan Hashmi diet plan and cheat meals

Emraan Hashmi reveals what his diet plan looks like

I have the most insipid, the most boring diet. I don’t vary my diet much; it’s the same meals every day. The only variation probably is I tend to go for a cheat meal once in a while, maybe like once a week, or if I’m working, it becomes even less than that. But it’s the same thing every day: lunch, dinner, and breakfast if I’m having it. I sometimes skip my breakfast, so yeah, it’s only two meals.

What does Emraan Hashmi’s food diary look like in a day?

All the food is weighed, right? Everything is weighed. So every time I eat, it’s just the basic thing: protein, chicken, grilled chicken or fish, mostly chicken these days, and vegetables, stir-fried vegetables. Just a little bit of seasoning on the vegetables, it’s the same staple thing. The chicken is weighed a certain number of grams. The veggies are weighed. It’s the same thing. I have the same thing for lunch, I’ve the same thing for dinner”.

When asked if he gets bored eating the same thing over again and again. He said, “I’ve gone beyond bored right now. Sometimes I just wash the chicken down with water because it gets so monotonous. Sometimes I’m not even hungry because you see the same thing on the plate, and you just wash the salad or the chicken down with water. And you’re chewing, and yeah, you can’t get by. You can’t slow it; you have water.”

Was Emraan a picky eater in childhood? Reveals his childhood favourite food

I ate everything when I was a kid. My staple diet in school was not the healthiest. I used to have a lot of Maggi noodles. That was a thing in the 80s. So that was something I would always carry in my tiffin, and I would always tell my mom to make it. And you have that little seasoning, that masala powder. I think it became a thing in my school. Everyone got addicted to that powder because everyone used to get it, and we ended up having it plain because it was, I don’t know, so tangy and tasty. I don’t know if they still give that with Maggi noodles; I haven’t had it for a long time.

Do you dislike any particular food item?

I generally don’t like salads, so it’s like having medicine for me, I don’t enjoy it. I don’t mind having any kind of cooked vegetables and stuff, but salads are something that I have to force myself to eat. You know, like when I was a kid, my mom used to say, “Eat this, eat the salad, it’s good for you.” It’s the same mentality I have right now. Like, I’m like a 10-year-old who doesn’t want to eat the salad, but it’s there, so I have to have it. I know it’s ultimately good for me.

Emraan Hashmi reveals eating cold pizzas and butter chicken

You know what’s great? Pizzas in the morning, cold pizzas. And you know what’s even better than that? Cold butter chicken. Yeah, in the morning, cold butter chicken and cold black dal. Disgusting things I used to do. But that’s something I haven’t done for a long time. But I used to have that a lot because those are my two favourite dishes: black dal and butter chicken, and naan. Yeah, maida (refined flour), full of maida, very fattening. So have that naan, which becomes like rubber in the morning. But cold naan with butter chicken and black dal.

It’s NO SUGAR for Emraan Hashmi

I don’t have sugar at all. It’s been the longest time since I’ve had sugar. Yes, occasionally when I go out with friends, and they are eating, there might be cake or some kind of dessert, and you dig into that a bit. I think you can’t go completely crazy and not eat anything at all. So I do eat a little bit, but in my stable diet, there is no sugar whatsoever because sugar is a poison. Refined sugar is essentially a poison. It’s surprising that people still consume it. You don’t even realise that it’s in so many things. Even your chips have it, your sauces have it. So you don’t even know that if you’re drizzling something with a sauce. Your sugar intake stacks up there. And slowly, you go beyond your daily intake of sugar. So it’s not advisable.

Emraan Hashmi reveals his secret egg recipe

I’ve just learned a recipe, I don’t know if you can call it a recipe, but kind of like I could cook eggs to save my life. I could only do scrambled or fried eggs. Now, I’ve learned how to make scrambled eggs. And the reason I do it myself is because I like my scrambled eggs soft. I can’t have anyone else cook it; I don’t trust them because they overcook it, and it gets too dry and doesn’t go down my throat. So, that’s become my concoction. I’ve made a special sauce I keep at home, which is again without sugar or anything. I mix hummus into the scrambled eggs. So, the hummus, scrambled eggs, and the sauce give that. That’s my thing.
